Former Chief of Staff ask government to fight claims

The former former chief of staff, Kojo Mpiani has asked government to challenge claims made made by the Africa Automobile limited (AAL)

The Automobile limited is claiming an amount of $1.5 billion from government for the delivery of over 86 cross country vehicles which were delivered   in 2001.The vehicles, distributed to the various local assemblies during the Kufuor led administration by the NDC 1 were not used but left to rot in a bonded ware house.

Explaining the reason why the vehicles were not used, Kojo Mpiani stated that they did not meet the correct specifications of the Kufuor led administration.

Meanwhile, Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okujeto blames the Kufuor administration of negligence. He further noted that government is currently in negotiations with the companies over an out of court settlement and a reduction of price. But in response to the minister’s statement Kojo Mpiani directed that government  should go go  to court and challenge the claims, noting that there was no way for negotiations.
