Berekum Chelsea captain Abdul Basit admits there would be pressure on his team to impress against TP Mazembe far away in Lubumbashi in the newly built 14,500 seater Stade Nouveau Mazembe on July 22nd.
The four time African champions, Mazembe, lost their opening group encounter to Al Ahly last weekend and would go all out seeking for a home win to appease their fans.
The desperation in Mazembe’s search for a win has prompted fears that fans of the DR Congo club could intimidate Berekum Chelsea.
Chelsea skipper Abdul Basit insists Mazembe fans could intimidate them but believes his side can easily win the game provided they play on a good pitch in the newly built stadium.
Meanwhile, South African match official David Bennet, who officiated in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Guinea in the quarter finals of the 2012 Cup of Nations, has been appointed by CAF as the centre referee for this game. Bennett will be assisted on the lines by fellow South African match officials Enock Molefe and Zakhele Siwela.
