Sexual Offenders Must Undergo Psychological Differences.

A clinical psychologist, Derrick Oppong is of the view that sexual offenders should be made to seek psychological treatment instead of being sent to prison. He also stated that the offenders do not undergo any habitation whiles in prison. He said “Let us put the blame on the law courts when an individual is accused of a sex crime if the person is found guilty he is sent to jail and I doubt whether the person under goes any rehabilitation” According to him since sexual behavior is something that is cultivated it is only prudent that offenders are made to undergo a therapy known as “Aversion Conditioning “where by the minds are cognitively restructured. Derrick Oppong told Pravda news that the prisons in the country are not well equipped so this makes it difficult for the offenders to undergo the therapy.He further said that the law alone will not help curb this menace since the culprits escape punishment due to lack of evidence. He therefore advised parents to create a friendly rapport with their children, so these kids will feel free and confident whenever they are molested. He said “most laws are typically very hostile and highly intolerant of sexual predators worldwide, as for the laws we have them in place but the two things that are missing in Ghana are lack of education especially towards parents and care givers of this vulnerable chidren.Any time you send your children on hawking you are putting your child at risk.
