National Identification Authority Yet To Receive Funds To For The Commencement Of Registration In The Three Northern Regions.

The National Identification Authority (NIA) says that it is yet to receive funds from the Ministry Of Finance to commence registration in the three parts of the Northern Region. Speaking to Pravda news, Communications Director of the National Identification Authority, Bertha Dzeble said the NIA is waiting on the Ministry of Finance to provide funds for the necessary proceedings to begin registration. She thus stated that she cannot make any promises as to the exact date that exercise will begin since the funds have not yet been given to the Authority. ‘Unfortunately we are unable to put a time line on when we are beginning.This is so because the processes that cumulate in the release of the money that is approved is not within our  control at the authority so we are waiting on The Ministry of Finance to fund the necessary resource for us or the money that has been approved us then we can now put a date line. We don’t want to confuse the public the public by setting our date line’ she stated. Madam Bertha Dzeble also indicated that the National Identification cards are ready areas which took part in the registration exercise in Accra, making reference to areas like Ablekuma and other surroundings.
